The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will develop manufacturing processes for new programs and improve existing processes to achieve quality and productivity goals. This position will play a lead role in developing, improving and integrating processes associated with the manufacturing process.
As the Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
Work cross functionally with design engineers, quality engineers, and machine operators to develop processes for new programs
Handle all phases of purely prototype or development contracts to meet required business needs
Propose and execute experimental programs to advance the state of manufacturing technology at Metem
Improve methods used on existing programs to enhance quality, yield and productivity
Collect, analyze and interpret relevant data to identify opportunities for improvement in the performance of existing processes
Troubleshoot and debug new equipment and communicate problems / develop solutions to fix and improve the process
Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness / equipment capability
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering related discipline from an accredited university or college
Competency in the execution of DOE’s (Design of Experiments)
Competency in use of Minitab or similar statistical software
Knowledge of machining high temperature alloys used in gas turbines
Demonstrated proficiency interpreting drawing requirement
Strong problem solving and organization skills
Strong skills in geometry, trigonometry, and statistics
Ability to think spatially
Understanding of the fundamentals of electrochemistry
Proficiency in the use of statistical process control and data analysis
Ability to analyze data and problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions using structured methodologies
Ability to effectively communicate to multiple levels of the organization, both verbally and through written communication
Self-motivated and self-driven proven project leadership
Ability to multi-task and productively manage multiple projects concurrently
Hands-on mindset, ability and willingness to perform on-machine testing
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
